Sorry, now that I think about it, where would I locate the "device toolbar"...is that in Windows or is it in the actual Audacity program? Right now my Audacity preference for playback, where it says "device" it says "Primary Sound Driver"...but I've tried it with that, and the other option is "Speak...

are you talking about the speaker icon on the lower right on my computer? IF so, it says IDT High Definition Audio CODEC...I don't see a speaker icon on audacity itself. And sorry if I'm breaking protocol...don't usually use this stuff so am unfamiliar with proedure, if there's a more acceptable way...

Guys, I'm brainless tech-wise. I have audacity installed (latest version for Windows 7) and can record just fine.
