Re: Vectorscope or equivalent

A useful thing would be for Audacity to have a [-1...0...+1] kind of display always in the meter group. Then a pop-up vectorscope (goniometer) display if the user wants a better view of things. The meter is enough to warn the user that something is going badly wrong it it's always pinned to -1 and n...

Re: Presonus Firewire Stutter?

I tried 2.0.4. Works fine.

I just re-downloaded a fresh copy of 2.0.5, just make sure something didn't get messed up somewhere. Put it in a separate place from the original and tried it. The stutter was right back.

So, something significant to this problem changed between 2.0.4. and 2.0.5.

Re: Presonus Firewire Stutter?

I was probably back a version on the old system but probably 2.0.3 or 2.0.4. I know I wasn't too far back. I did do a test with just a single stereo track imported to a new project and it stuttered. I'll load 2.0.3 and see if it has a problem and get back to you. Are there other diagnostics or syste...

Re: Presonus Firewire Stutter?

I suppose 44.1 kHz is the rate at which it gathers samples... It's not very descriptive though. ;) Not a Macbook Pro. It's a Late 2013 Mac Pro. Presonus Firewire Stutter?

I'm using OSX 10.9.3 on a 2013 Mac Pro interfaced for playback over firewire (Thunderbolt to FW800 Apple adapter cable) to a Presonus StudioLive 16.4.2AI. Audacity playback stutters like crazy. Audition is fine, iTunes is fine and VLC is fine. If I start another audio application like VLC (in record...

Re: please help!

I have kind of the same problem. I found that the only way to see the XLR mic input from the M-Audio Solo is to tell Audacity to use the "FW Solo (1560) as the input device and record 3 channels. The first 2 are probably the line inputs on the back and the 3rd channel is the mic. I haven't found a w...
