Re: Native audio formats
Thanks for that info which has cleared up a lot of things which have been puzzling me. I must admit that I have always thought that "ripping" was just another term for "burning" a disc but now I know better. Will now try what you suggest but might have to come back if I have yet more problems. Cheer...

Re: Native audio formats
Now I'm more confused than ever as all the discs I want to use in Audacity are either MP3 or WAV which I have made myself and all of which work perfectly in all my other CD players and in Real Player and Windows Media Player and yet when I try to use them in Audacity it claims that as the tracks are...

Native audio formats
I am trying to copy some songs from MP3 and WAV discs to use in Audacity but when I try to open them in Audacity I get the message "Audacity does not open this type of file. Try ripping it to a native format that Audacity can import" but it does not say what these "native format"s are. Anyone know w...

Re: Audacity to CD
Yes, that's right. I got the Netbook mainly because of its small size and it does perfectly for what I want (copying practice songs for my banjo practice when I am travelling in my camper) at the moment and dont yet need to go online which I probably will do eventually. I have now copied Audacity fr...

Audacity to CD
I have just bought a Netbook on which I would like to load Audacity without having to go online. Is it possible to use my present PC to download Audacity to disc and then load it onto my new Netbook?

Re: Echo during recording
I had the same problem when recording from my tape recorder or mike and then I noticed that when using the mouse arrow to send the speaker volume thingy on the Audacity top toolbar down to zero sometimes it would flick back a few mills and when I left it like that and then recerded I got an echo. Ho...

Re: WAV CDs wont play on any of my players
I have got both Windows Media Player and Nero but both seem to give trouble as they dont like WAV files although I have exported my Audacity recordings as audio WAV files. Also what exactly does this mean from the wiki To record WAV files to an Audio CD the file headers must be stripped and the rema...

As far as I can make out from the Audacity wiki I'm supposed to burn my WAV audio files to CD but when I try this my CD-R discs wont work on any of my players and even in Windows Explorer there are no files to be found on the discs. Also according to Wikipedia ...... Audio CDs Audio CDs do not use W...
