Okay, I think I got it.
I was thinking that Audacity (when I first found out about it yesterday) was along the lines of Microsoft's Sound Recorder (gasp!), so that's what I was expecting but with more features. (More gasps, chokes and burials to come!)

If you insist on hitting the Stop button, then there's not much we can do for you. If you press Pause, Audacity will go into Record Pause and you can pick up right where you left with another Pause key. If you want to pick up again next week or any time after you Stop, then you can use the Append R...

Hello all, I'm brand new to all of this. All I want to do is record myself going over some notes. I want to be able to click the Record button, talk, click the stop button AND THEN PICK RIGHT BACK UP by clicking the Record button again WITHOUT starting another track.
