Re: Converting Dual Mono to Mono [SOLVED]

steve's suggestion works pretty nicely for me. I tried it, following all of the suggested steps, and it works for me. Thanks.

Converting Dual Mono to Mono [SOLVED]

Using Audacity 2.0.5 and Mac OS 10.6.8 I use Fission to edit dual mono PCM audio in the AIFF file format. I've been using Audacity to convert the dual mono Fission created AIFF files to mono audio files ever since receiving help in this thread years ago: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f...

Re: Converting Dual Mono to Mono

Broadcast WAV metadata as I understand it is very specialised, to do with radio automation, database archiving and file synchronisation/exchange. Besides, iTunes doesn't recognise any metadata in WAV files of any sort. Gale I experimented with adding metadata to a WAV file with Audacity, then bring...

Re: Artist is Listed as Director in WAV files Per MediaInfo

Thanks for the link to the List Info specification. I've been looking for a list of RIFF Info tags like the one on that web page. Perhaps the tag name "Director" instead of "Artist" makes sense for MediaInfo, considering MediaInfo is often used to look at video files. That didn't...

Artist is Listed as Director in WAV files Per MediaInfo

I am using the Metadata Editor to embed text based data in WAV files in the RIFF List Info format. I understand Audacity only supports a subset of the List Info tags, as explained to me in the Converting Dual Mono to Mono thread that I started on the Audacity 1.2.x forum. Also, I read http://wiki.au...

Audacity Beta 1.3.13 & BIAS Soundsoap 2.2.0

A few months ago, I used Apple's Migration Assistant to transfer everything from my earlier Mac computer to my new iMac with Mac OS 10.6.8. BIAS SoundSoap 2.2.0 got copied to the new iMac. I installed Audacity Beta 1.3.13 on the new iMac a few days ago. Sometimes, when I click on the Audacity Beta 1...

I would not expect a pdf version to be produced before Audacity 2.0 is released.
Thanks. Makes sense.

1.3.13 Manual, Only HTML, No PDF?

I do my creative work on a new iMac with OS 10.6.8. I've installed Audacity Beta 1.3.13 on it. I do my sit-back reading (including reading manuals) on a Windows netbook. Is the 1.3.13 built-in Manual only HTML? No PDF? In fact, the built-in Manual makes me go online, but I stay offline on the iMac a...

Re: Converting Dual Mono to Mono

Thanks again.

Henceforth, I'll ask questions on Audacity 1.3.x (Beta) forum, considering that's what I am using now.

Re: Converting Dual Mono to Mono

I think I'll use those RIFF Info fields that Audacity supports.

How many characters allowed in Comments? 256?

It's a shame that not many players read this metadata. Maybe that situation will improve, considering Audacity and Adobe Audition support it.
