Thank you I have reset the preferences and this seems to have worked thank you for your help

You can't open anything on the drop down menu's therefore you cannot go through preferences as once you click on the ???? it shuts down

I too have question marks instead of words on my tool bar and drop down menus consist of ??? also just like poppy1
