Re: Spontaneous Changes in Audacity Set Up
Hi Gale, I am currently using a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4407. I'm in the process of acquiring a new computer but this is what I'm using now. I went on the Toshiba website and was able to download a more recent driver, but it didn't seem to affect anything when I did a test record on Audacity-- Excep...

Re: Spontaneous Changes in Audacity Set Up
Hi Steve, Thanks for all the info and options to explore. I enabled the Stereo Mix and set the DC Offset to Cancel, as was suggested on that page. Doing so removed that "extra line" related to the DC setting, yet there was still a lot of "background noise" on an otherwise good recording. I also chec...

Re: Spontaneous Changes in Audacity Set Up
Here is the current screenshot of the recording.
After making some adjustments, it is creating a viable recording EXCEPT that there is a lot of while noise in background and looks like there is an extra straight line running through the recording.
Thanks, Maridel

Re: Spontaneous Changes in Audacity Set Up
I did attach my visual of the Audacity screenshot according to the instruction link you just sent. It gave me a message of being successful, but see now that it is in a format the upload doesn't allow: odt. So will need to work on finding another format in which to send it. Are there different direc...

Spontaneous Changes in Audacity Set Up
Hello, After my computer crashed, I re-installed the latest version of Audacity 2.1.1 on a different computer and got it all set up and tested. When I returned to use it after a couple of weeks, the settings had changed and I was unable to create a viable recording. As it shows in the attachment, th...

Re: Lost data file but still have recorded tracks
Hi Gale, I have sent you a couple of PMs in the last 5 days or so. Wondering if you got them because you are usually so responsive AND I can't find them when I go into PM. Both times I received the message that my messages were successfully sent. So thought I'd check in with you to see if you got th...

Re: Lost data file but still have recorded tracks
Gale or whoever is available for this question...
I am having trouble figuring out how to search for a specific time stamp on my computer.
I am using my Search function, but even with advanced settings, I see no way to enter a specific time.
Any help with this is appreciated,
Maridel

Ok, I'll update using the link you sent me earlier and then search for the time you gave me originally.
Thanks, Gale.
Thanks, Gale.

Re: Lost data file but still have recorded tracks
Gale, I wanted to search the computer to see if the files were, in fact, available before proceeding. Below are the numbers I found at the top of the log file. They do not match the "starting at time 09:33:36 near the top of the log file." that you suggested I search for. Please advise. Thanks, Mari...

Re: Lost data file but still have recorded tracks
Hello again, Gale. Thanks for your instructions for regaining the data for my project. I have been sick the last two weeks which is why I haven't responded to you--nor been able to tackle the task. I am wondering if there is a way to pay to have this done i.e., having someone access my computer via ...
