Well I am back here again. I got notification that a new Audacity was out (3.7) and when I tried it, of course it crashed again. I know it isn't a driver issue as I am using the standard protocol that is on the unit (as I can use it with linux). I am still waiting for M-Audio to come up with a drive...

Well I upgrade all that it told me to upgrade and Audacity still crashes. My "properties" says SP2 still. Update isn't offering my SP3 and it may not exist for the 64 bit version. I keep saying to send the error to microsoft. Are they sending "you" the error data?

I think I did try the hot fix which didn't work. Can't remember but since I did do it and it still doesn't work would mean it still isn't working. I have Microsoft Update turned on but it never gives me the option to go to SP3. So I don't know how to upgrade to SP3 to try it out. So from what I am g...

Well I tried to put back the "correct" ole file and when I did that Explorer stopped working. Had to put ole file back and still no audacity. I don't see any indicators of SP3 on my computer. I looked at Properties on my computer icon and it still shows SP2. I downloaded a oleaut32.dll from dlldump and I noticed that it is the same size as the file in C:windowssyswow64 but it doesn't match. There is a version in C:windowssystem32 which is...

Since I am unsure that I can back out SP3, will recompiling audacity cure the problem, along with getting the right ole file....
