Sorry Steve, guess I'm using wrong terminololgy! Basically, I record a guitar track through a Tascam external soundcard. Then accompany that track with a second track, when I playback the 2 recorded tracks, there is a time lag between the two.

Thanks for that Steve, now I can accompany a pre-recorded track - but the latency is still there when I playback.

Further to my earlier post, simply playing guitar whilst all set to record (on pause), with laptop speakers on, the latency/delay is there even then.

Sorry if this has been covered before. I've looked at the various solutions and most go the path of recording a click track, then overdubbing that track through an external microphone. Ok so far, but then I read that once that latency has been fixed it will only apply to the inputs on that track. So...
