At last success. thanks for the suggestion.
Now back to the LP conversion. I have tried other editing programs,
but have been a disappointed in the results compared to audacity.

No. Just a hi speed squirt of noise. The thing is it was performing perfectly before I had a PC crash
and now this. I have loaded it onto a 2nd pc with the same effect. maybe there is something in the
settings about this????

I have reloaded Audacity 1.2.6 several times, but when I try to open any audio file I only get the first 30 secs and then nothing. The previous install before my pc crashed worked really well.
