It's a long shot, but check that "Software Playthrough" is not selected (near the bottom of the Transport menu). Naw, thats not selected. Its deffo not a setting on Audacity as i tried a different program and the same happened so it has to be a setting elsewhere but no idea where. Sound devices on ...

Vista and Win7 can have audio conferencing services on as default.
