OK, just ran a low pass filter with the default settings, and it has cleaned the interview up immensely! Thank you, Audacity!

"Generate some White Noise, use the High Pass Filter with 12 dB Rolloff, q = 10, and Cutoff = 1000 Hz." I tried using these settings to get rid of the static hum on the telephone interview I recorded, and it eliminated all sounds. I then hit Control-Z to get the interview back. Hoping for a shortcut...

Without spending too much time experimenting, is there a recommended setting for reducing the telephone line noise that was in the background of a telephone interview?

(solved) can see waveform but not hear audio

Suddenly in the middle of my recorded interview, I can no longer hear audio although the waveform continues as before. Please tell me there is an easy fix! This needs to be ready to go on air today, asap.
