It ended up being more work than it was worth. Downloaded the windows version. XP. Installed and was loading music in a few minutes. Pulling files to the SUSE side to work on.

Can jack handle 8 tracks at once?

It wasn't, but it may need to be.

How do I turn off all those piddly demons running in the background. SUSE has a bunch of things running to make someone's life easier. They just annoy me.

It sees the chip name but only seems to access one stereo pair. That leaves 8 a/d channels unaccounted for.

I have brought in all the suggested gimmicks. Is there a short intro somewhere on how to hook them up?

PulseAudio doesn't seem to see the 1010lt.

Recording only goes 7-50 seconds. I have turned off or reduced as much function as I could find. What does record is super. Just need to get up to 5 minutes.
