When I connect the recorder with the USB cable, it shows up on the desktop. I then open the file and drag the WMA into Audacity. But when I play it, it just has static and it should be playing a conversation. So that doesn't work. I'm beginning to think I need the Olympus software after all... Any o...

Oops... Just found where the input says 'Name' - LIne in and 'Port' - Audio line-in port. Does this tell you anything? What kind of cable would I need to plug into the audio line in port on the Mac? The recorder has a USB port and one for 'Ear'.

The recorder is connected to the Mac using a USB cable, but it does not show up in the input devices of the preferences panel. The format is WMA.

Digital Recorder Direct into Audacity?

I have an Olympus digital recorder and have successfully imported audio from it into the Olympus software and then to Audacity. I have a Mac with 10.4. Is there a way I can bypass the Olympus software and just import the audio directly into Audacity from the recorder? I have some Windows friends ask...
