Fair enough, but I don't only record within traktor and the external routing is single source at a time (so when I have 2 TTs and the 2 channels of the midi controller I can't route them all).

I saw a similar problem but it was related to a hiss. In my case, when I start Audacity, or hit Record (if started before) the volume of the music playback itself spikes. It seems like the record volume itself remains low, but playback is cranked to the point of being unbearable. I am using an M-Aud...
