Re: How to default open Fit to Width

Thanks for the suggestions. This was the version I downloaded a while back and upgraded all my other computers, by mine. So, I just upgraded it. Going to grab the newest one.

How to default open Fit to Width

I just upgraded to 2.2.0 and even though I selected to keep all my previous settings...it doesn't seem it did. Now, when I open a file, the file opens kind of zoomed in. How do I make Audacity open files to "Fit to Width"? Where is shows the entire file waveform on the screen? I see Auto-fit track h...

Re: Question about SHIFT + R in version 2.2.2

is there a way to make version 2.2.2 simply continue recording on the current track, without creating a new track? Press the "R" key. Because most of our users want to record just one track, the short-cuts "R" and "Shift + R" have been reversed. To go back to the previous arrangement, enable "Alway...

Question about SHIFT + R in version 2.2.2

Several months ago I upgraded all my computers to 2.2.2 and since then when I use the SHIFT + R, to continue a recording, it starts a new track below the current track. In the older version I was using, Audacity would simply continue recording on the same track. So, is there a way to make version 2....

Re: Questions about Audacity 2.2.2

There is still a "Zoom to fit" button (see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/edit_toolbar.html#fit_to_width) and the shortcut "Ctrl + F". The File menu is not customizable, but you can set keyboard shortcuts for the various Export options. "Ctrl + Shift + E" is the default shortcut for Export Aud...

Questions about Audacity 2.2.2

I have updated some of my computers to 2.2.2 (and really like the new version, but miss a few things from the older version(s)) and noticed a couple things I wondered if they can be changed. Is there anyway to get the "Fit to Window" zoom back on the menu bar? In 2.2.2 you click on Zoom and then get...

Just upgraded and have a question about default VIEW.

I just upgraded from 2.0.5 to 2.2.0 and now everytime I open an audio file it will only display the first 20 seconds of the file. It no longer displays the entire file. I have searched through the preferences and I do not see anywhere to change this. How can I adjust it so by default Audacity will d...

I have a unique amplifing problem I need help with

I have an hour audio file (recorded show) that someone records with two different people talking in the show. One person's audio level is fine, the second one is really low. The two people alternate talking back and forth throughout the show, which is about an hour long. Now, to the problem. Is ther...
