I have an 20 year old pioneer system works perfectly well. Trying to record vinyl but there is lots of noise, like feedback. I had to recoonect the turntable cables having cut them a few years ago. Could this be the problem? Any help.

I have got some vinyl I want to copy to my laptop. I have found out I need a RCA cable I think. If I have this will it work in a 20 years old pioneer amp using the VCR out put? Then contect to the laptop?
