Re: High pitched laptop fan ruining my podcast

You have another variation in all this. I don't hear any high-pitch interference—or at least nothing very serious, or nothing that shows up on the analysis tools. Maybe one of the other elves with better analysis can generate a notch filter to selectively suck out one or two single tones. make sure ...

Re: tuning an mp3 file into silent subliminal

You didn't say what the job was. If it's to affect other people's behavior without them realizing it, then you have just talked your way out of Audacity Forum Help. There is a successful way to clinically affect behavior, but it's not popular because it's a lot of work with a staff and not fooling a...

Re: tuning an mp3 file into silent subliminal

Once again the note that you should never do production in MP3. As DVDdoug above, MP3 gets its small, convenient files by cleverly scrambling tones in the performance and then dropping tones that normal people can't hear. If you do this once, as the format was intended, everybody enjoys the show and...

Re: just asking for tips

If you post a mono WAV like that (recommended), you can extend the playback out to 20 seconds. Do that and produce a song with many different notes. Your posting is two of the same phrases one after the other. So you basically posted a 4 second clip—twice. If your exported show is too large for the ...

We can wait for someone with golden ears to post, but I think it's fine the way it is.

Re: Understanding the "Amplify" effect

And in case this went by you, Amplify and its cousin Normalize work on blue wave tips and peaks. Full stop. Different from loudness. Peaks are a pleasure to program. Go ripping down the show looking for the highest number. Then change it and the rest of the show depending on selection and the user s...

and interviews via zoom.
How are you doing that? Zoom multi-point meetings are super difficult to record. You are urged to use the Zoom company tools to record Zoom meetings on the Zoom servers rather than your home machines.

More consulting your instructions.

Welcome to the Audacity forum Some forum notes: This forum covers nine time zones, so the contributor you need may just be going to bed when you post a question or response. The forum is generally very responsive, especially compared to other forums which can take days to get a response. Two groups...

Re: unf db warning (too low -- dead silence can be...)

The Yeti has one serious problem. It doesn't have an Off/ Green / Red light. Many microphones have a light somewhere that remains dark when you're not even close to being loud enough, Green when your volume is just about right, and Red when you're getting too loud—too close to overload. In the case ...

Re: unf db warning (too low -- dead silence can be...)

Which Yeti? They're up to.... four different ones? I think. That's a promotion trick. It's not whether you should get a Yeti, it's which one. Hijacking your decision tree. Did you get it new? The first Yeti came out of the box as a very respectable microphone with a broken instruction book. Where's ...
