Re: Mackie ProFX10v3 Mixer Connection

OK (rolling up sleeves). Over on the right. Power light should be on and 48V should be off. See: Left-hand channel strip (top to bottom). Plug the SM58 into Input #1. You should be using an actual XLR cable for this. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/XLR-Cable-500.jpg No adapters or other funn...

Re: Hearing other person on therapy recording session

VA Support says that due to privacy concerns, VA Video Connect doesn't support recording. Since most people connect hands-free, they recommend taking a stand-alone sound recorder or voice recording app on your phone with you and leave it running on the table or desk during the call.

Re: Hearing other person on therapy recording session

When you say you've used "hardware techniques" to address this problem, what do you mean? I always add a "thing" or a machine. Everybody goes into this with the idea of communicating easily on the computer and making a good quality recording of both sides on the same computer . Given the success ra...

Re: Clicking when Transferring DAT recordings

Do you have access to a second DAT machine? Have you done your analog protection copies? Have you ever seen a DAT machine threading itself? It's nothing like a little audio cassette machine dragging a narrow tape between two reels. It's a little video cassette recorder with threading arms, spinning ...

Re: Install Waves Sibilance plugin in Audacity 2.4.2 Win10 & Mac

Waves Sibilance v12 Is the goal to smooth out sibilance, essing, or harsh, gritty spoken word performances? We do OK with existing tools. https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=79278&p=404021&hilit=desibilator#p404021 If you use desibilator after the Audiobook Mastering tools, you won'...

Re: Hearing other person on therapy recording session

I'd suggest that you use VVC on your phone rather than on your computer. Enable "speaker phone", and place your recording mic between yourself and the phone. In other words, put your voice and the patient's voice in the room...and then record the room. The quality is going to go down. The recording...

Re: "couldn't find project data folder" message

How would I go about separating them? We should wait for a Windows elf. There's just too many screen variables and optimizations and I'm a Mac elf. I am moved to ask how the AUP file got inside the _DATA folder in the first place. Audacity doesn't put it there when you save a project. and now it no...

Re: "couldn't find project data folder" message

the .aup file is located in the folder that is labeled _data
And that's the problem. They have to be in the same location, but separate.

Re: Help! Can't pinpoint this sound

I was thiiiiis close to throwing in the towel. That could be slow speed data transmission. Can you try a recording from somewhere else, like a couple of blocks, 1/4 mile away? Are you close to an airport or other building with towers or antennae? Can you make a recording without plugging into the wa...
