Actually I tried that already. The number I input "stuck" but still seemed to have no effect, even though the little arrows appeared, to indicate latency correction was applied. I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.8 and Audacity 2.0.1. I just upgraded the other day. I was using Audacity 1.2.5 for quite a while and everything was fine but alot of info online referred to the new version so I figured I'd better upgrade. I'm using the same equipment and room as before. It's hard to describe what I meant by "raw." Sort of uncompressed, too many highs and lows, a little distortion. After adding reverb, it just sounds exactly the same but with reverb, whereas Sound Sculptor somehow normalized things and they just sound...

I used to use Sound Sculptor, a terrific program that unfortunately only worked under OS 9 and was then abandoned, so I'm trying to give it up. It had lots of presets, so dealing with Audacity is really difficult for a non-audio engineer. But the biggest problem is that the tracks I've recorded with...
