Ah snap, what would you recommend for recording a drum then ?

Hi. I just downloaded Audacity so I could record my e-drum. As MIDI interface I use a EDIROL UM-2ex by Roland. Well, whenever I open Audacity and try to record, I get no respons. I tried to change alot of settings but nothing really happend. So I was wondering if anyone could help me. Thanks on adva...
