From your first post, taking a look at your alsamixer screenshot, looks like you're capturing sound from S/PDIF, I don't think that's where you want to capture sound from... In capture mode (F4) of alsamixer, use the left/right arrow keys to highlight "Capture" then press spacebar. You should now s...

As far as I can tell (and my sound configuration setup), ALSA is my default audio engine. Here it is:

Problem recording computer audio
