Re: Arrange your tracks with 'Chain-it-up.ny'

This is an extremely helpful plug-in. It saves a lot of time when compiling a large number of tracks into one flowing audio presentation, be it a live concert or a radio show. That said, there are two issues which could be improved. The fact that the tracks are not actually aligned but Silence is ad...

Re: ReplayGain

Meanwhile I produced a whole radio show using ReplayGain. The result is most satisfying. Of 70 tracks there were two I didn’t quite agree with and which I boosted by 1 and 2 dB respectively. It’s worth noting that ReplayGain does not reset Gain levels set in the Track Panel, so they should be set to...

Re: ReplayGain

Hi Steve! Thanks for the link. I read up on it and have come up with another idea. Apparently ReplayGain uses a reference level of -14 dBSF of pink noise. Would it be possible to have a slider to adjust the reference level? The reason I’m so interested in such an option is that it would simplify the...

Re: ReplayGain

Steve, you’re a star! This is exactly what I was looking for in Audacity and it works brilliantly. I admit, I don’t know how you do it. Since the effect is applied to individual tracks, how does it calculate levels for the respective tracks which make all tracks sound equally loud? Well, how ever yo...

Re: Equal Loudness normalizing

Steve, thanks very much for this. I’ve been searching high and low for a plug-in that normalises the RMS. Having read up on Replay Gain I understand it to be even better than RMS normalisation, so I’m really glad of this plug-in. I’m not totally sure of its usage however. It seems -12 DB is the lowe...

Re: Access to the Envelope Tool via the keyboard?

Hi Steve! Sorry for taking so long to reply. I had a lot going on here and didn’t get around to testing the Auto Duck. First, thanks very much for pointing that out to me. You’re right, it comes very close to what I mean. it’s a shame however that it does not have the option to save presets. It does...

Re: Access to the Envelope Tool via the keyboard?

Hi Steve! You’re doing great work here. Thanks for your support. The Text Envelope comes close to what I and many other blind radio makers need, but I’m afraid it’s a little too unwieldy for our purpose. Here is why. We need to mix spoken word with music or background atmosphere a lot. For instance,...
