Try going into the control panel/sound section of Vista. Change to classic view to help you find the right area. Your best bet would be to get a Zune or some other digital recorder and then save that to a file on your computer. Then use media player to burn a copy on to a CD or DVD depending on the size. Remember if you record in stereo and at 44k you will eat up a lot more space then if you record in mono at ...

Try going to Audacity preferences Audio I/O and look at the two bottom check boxes.
If you want to "listen" to the old track and "Record" a new track make sure that your options are set up to accomidate that (Same Page) and your sound card options.

I want to thank you fro creating this program first of all. I am running a X64 based system with Vista SP1 I have used this program succuessfully to edit wave files.
