exactly what the title says, how do you loop a track while recording a new one?

i accidentally deleted my edit tool bar and other tool bars while they were floating how do i restore them?

ok, now that that problems solved another one just had to pop up to make it impossible to work. now it wont pick up the input signal, i press record and that little blue line doesn't expand at all.

i got tired of messing with my comp, so i just restarted and problem solved, ill post if it acts up again.

no i wasnt talking about those things in audacity. my output just isnt working for anything

how would i lower the input level into audacity

if i want to record my guitar with very high gain at a pretty loud level how far should i place my condenser microphone away from the amp?

when i press the play button it depresses and the green bar pops up at the beginning of the track but it does not move. i can still record i just cant play. ok i just tried playing itunes and internet videos and none of them will play also.
