Re: Recordings came out too loud
Problem Solved. I deleted all the "loud" files and started experimenting with the 'gain' during the recording process..........it's not dynamic, i.e. when I move the slider to the right to increase the gain it doesn't effect the 'display" but it sure does effect the actual recording. If I export the...

Recordings came out too loud
I recorded some MP3's from an old album. During the recording process (View fit vertically) I turned up the volume because it seemed to low. It looked OK when I saved it, but now when I re-open it I can see that it is maxed out. There seems to be a difference in the "view" between recording and play...

Re: You don't have permission to access /forum/ on this serv
Thanks WC............I'm on the Linux machine now, but that link did not work directly...........but kicking it around a couple of times with search engines I got in so I bookmarked it. Hopefully this is the last problem I'll encounter. Thanks again, Bob

You don't have permission to access /forum/ on this server
Firefox works just fine on other sites but when I access this forum from Audacity that is the "Forbidden" warning I get. When I go to http://audacityteam.org/forum/ directly in Firefox I get the same screen. Works fine over here on Windoze machine.

Re: only .6 seconds of record
Problem Solved. The recommendation to upgrade to 10.10 was accomplished by erasing the drive, downloading 10.10 and burning it to disk (on my Windoze machine), and then installing it fresh. Then I was able to get version 1.3.12 of Audacity. Initally it wouldn't record, but by going to "Sound Prefere...

Re: only .6 seconds of record
"If you upgrade to Ubuntu 10.04 which has long-term support you can get Audacity 1.3.12 which is the current Beta version. "
Upgraded Ubuntu to 9.10 (that was as far as it would go) and Audacity is still 1.3.9. Now Audacity won't even monitor input now !
How can I get the newer versions?

only .6 seconds of record
Fresh install of Audacity 1.3.7 on Ubuntu 9.04 won't record from line in for more than .6 seconds. Audacity has worked well in the past on a smaller hard drive but this is the first time I have tried recording on this larger hard drive. Everything starts out OK, like in the past, but then quits. The...

Re: MP3 Library
YES! and a big THANK YOU ! The installation went smoothly with those instructions. I succesfully removed the scratches from David Brombergs Bullfrog Blues, and the export in MP3 format went right back in the spot where the old file was! I'm back in business with the larger hard drive. Thanks again t...

MP3 Library
I had Audacity working just fine on a 6 gig drive but not enough free space to edit a 13 minute MP3 . Reloaded Ubuntu and Audacity on a 20 gig and was able to edit the song but I can't "save" it back to it's original loacation becuse Audacity can't find 'libmp3lame.so.o". Chosing "download" only get...
