Audacity 2.2.1 and Saffire 6 USB

Help for Audacity 2.x.x on Mac OS X.

ImageThis forum is for Audacity 2.x.x on Mac OS X 10.4 and later.
Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

I am using MacOS 10.13.3 and have connected a Focusrite Saffire 6 USB. I am trying to record from Vinyl and I get very distorted sound. I have downloaded the proper software for the Saffire from the Focusrite website. I used to use a windows 7 machine which worked fine.

I think I am getting stuttering on my recordings.

Thank you Bill. I have tried these options and nothing has changed.
In fact, I have now bought the albums, (from iTunes) that I was trying to record.
Frustrating as I was really impressed with Audacity when I used it on a windows machine.
Thanks again.
