Soucis pour enregistrer les sons du PC

Bonjour,

Same for me. Recording does not works, neither micro nor PC. I also tried selecting Realtek HD audio (mic, line mixer or stereo): not better.
Thanks for help !!!

If you want to be guaranteed an answer you need to write in English on the main Help Forum:

If you are using Windows Vista or later and you want to record computer playback, use Audacity 2.0.6 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows?lang=fr then choose Windows WASAPI host in Audacity.

  1. Open Device Toolbar .
  2. In the first (Host) box of Device Toolbar, choose “Windows WASAPI”.
  3. In the second (Playback device) box in Device Toolbar, choose the Speakers or Headphones that you are using for listening.
  4. In the third (Recording device) box in Device Toolbar, choose the (loopback) input for the same device you chose in step 3. For example, if you chose “Speakers” in Step 3, choose “Speakers (loopback)” in this step.
  5. In the fourth (Recording Channels) box in Device Toolbar, choose mono or stereo.
  6. Start playing the audio you want to record.
  7. Press the big red Record button in Audacity.

Thanks… but I (we) use XP3 and I have not Wasapi but just MME or WindowsDirectSound in the first box… and the following procedure does not works.

However, I try to translate (with Ggle !)

Please be careful with Windows XP. Microsoft are no longer officially supporting it, so it will be unpatched against any new security vulnerabilities that appear.

Ensure you have a good third-party anti-virus application. Be aware though that this will not give you complete protection against a previously unknown attack. For some extra protection you can install http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/jj653751 .

Apart from that, go to Windows Sounds and Audio Devices and see if you can enable stereo mix or wave out.

If not, go to the web site of the computer manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer to see if you can find updated Windows XP drivers for your sound device. Manufacturers’ drivers can sometimes provide stereo mix or wave out that the generic audio drivers from Microsoft cannot.

If all else fails, if you have a line-in (blue) on the computer (separate from the microphone in), then you can connect a stereo cable from the audio out to the line-in then set Audacity to record from the line-in.

If all your Windows audio input devices are disabled Audacity cannot record.

Try enabling the audio devices in Windows Sound using these instructions: Missing features - Audacity Support.

Thanks for this info but… §!

As it says at http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#vistacp you need to right-click in empty space in the Recording tab to “Show Disabled Devices” and then right-click over each device you want to use, and choose “Enable”.

The latest Audacity is 2.1.0: http://web.audacityteam.org/download/?lang=fr. It would be advisable to upgrade from 2.0.3 in any case.
