Recording position error waveform

Hello everyone,

This is very urgent!

I use Audacity 2.5 on Windows 7 to record sound with the following parameters:

  1. 1 channel input
  2. 16-bit
  3. 16 000 KHz

but the problem is that the recording starts from the magnitude 0.5 instead of 0

here is a picture that illustrates my problem

J’utilise Audacity 2.05 sous windows 7, pour enregistrer un son avec les paramètres suivants:

  1. 1 canal d’entré
  2. 16 Bits
  3. 16000 KHz

mais le problème c’est que l’enregistrement commence à partir de l’amplitude 0.5 au lieu de 0

Do you mean Audacity 2.0.5?

This is nothing to do with Audacity - your sound card is doing that. The problem is called DC Offset.

You can correct it after recording using Effect > Normalize… .

Look in Windows “Sound” if there is a DC offset correction that you can enable for the microphone.
