Good evening. How far are you from your mic when speaking? The pre-amp is needed when you can not record in between a -6 and -12 dbs while still keeping your noise floor at a -60 to -70 dbs. This is why you are having problems with your RMS levels, I am 99.9% sure. I took your file and applied the low speech roll off, then used the RMS normalizer to -18dbs then normalized to -3.5 dbs and it passed just fine. It's OK if you have to apply these filters to meet the ACX requirements, it's just better if you can get there naturally.

Something is wacky. Attached.

Mack Caster is also getting odd results from the correction suite.

Here, it's three steps and we're done.

I need to drop for a minute.

;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) GREAT JOB!! I have a paying gig for you if you want it. All you have to do is record the script, I will do the editing and production to meet the ACX. It will take about 30 to 45 min for phase 1. Do you have an hourly rate for recording only?

@Koz, I am starting to think that maybe Audacity likes windows 8.1 much better than Mac. Look at all the screen shots and it seems that since we are all using the same three identical plugins, my DC Offset is always 0.0 and my noise floor seems to be lower than what you guys are producing with your Mac AHAHAH Ronnie machines. Keep in mind that the only change I made was RMS Normalize to -18 instead of -20.

And left out the Effect > Limiter step.

Anyway, you're rolling.

The limiter step is my third process. Why do you think I left it out? The only time I leave any effect out if is it is not needed.

Wahoo! Next step: Get a book through ACX.

Thanks enormously, Koz.

Mack, that sounds interesting! I'll shoot you a PM.

Great, I will send you the link to phase 1 when you do. You will do great. It is instructional and I think you can nail it with one take. It is truly funny how paths cross in life! ;)

Because it doesn't appear in your dialog.
