one mp3 file with chapters

I need your help. I was trying to find a solution here. I want to export my audiobook as mp3. This I can do as multiple files. However, I’m trying to export it as a single file with the chapters “build in” so people will only need to download one file instead of multiple files. I’m sure there is an easy way to do this. Can you help? Much appreciated. And thank you in advance. Robert

I’m sure there is an easy way to do this.

Why are you sure? MP3’s Full Family Name is MPEG1, Layer 3. It’s part of a video format. The video took care of chapters and show management, not the sound service.

It’s possible there was an update to the format, but I don’t think so. MP3’s value is the fact that it didn’t change and it’s universal.

RobertR,

I did the same for some short projects I just had. I discovered that since I have to upload the first 15 minutes anyway, I preferred to just have one initial file, edit and process it and THEN chop it up.

The easiest way to do this (as far as I know) is to use tracks and labels.

Have a look at this guide: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/label_tracks.html

Cheers.
