Recording Audio Books

I am a bit slow when it comes to anything to do with computers. With that said I can follow directions well. So my question is : what is the best tutorial i can follow along so that i can record my voice. I have power book g4 with version 10.4.11. I have rigged up a sound booth that uses a samson coiu. Any suggestions ? Brian

You might want to have a look at this wiki page:

There are already a few threads on this forum about the subject, such as this: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/recording-an-audiobook-getting-consistent-levels-from-chap/15534/1

If you search the forum you’ll probably found some more.

Which audacity version are you using?

(Hint: Audacity 1.3.12 is highly recommended - you can get it here: Audacity ® | Downloads )

For information about using Audacity 1.3.12 there are a number of Tutorials and useful tips (see links at top of page, or the links directly below my post).
There is also a comprehensive manual included with Audacity 1.3.12 (look in the Help menu).
When you first launch Audacity, a Welcome screen appears with links to useful information. You will probably be best to read those, and other pop-up messages that occur.
