Help Insert Audio (Intro) into Podcast

Hi there! My friend and I have a podcast and we want to insert an intro to a past episode that had issues. I edited out the bad stuff but I want to insert a new intro explaining why we are starting at a different place. So how to insert new audio file into existing project? I keep trying but it doesn’t seem to work. Thank you! I use windows by the way.

Open the Project and import the new intro file. They will appear one above the other and play at the same time. Use the Time Shift Tool (two sideways black arrows) to push the show to the right (later) until it starts up after the intro finishes. Since they’re separate tracks, you can create fancy-pants effects like fade in and fade out, and you can apply effects and filters to one without the other to help the two match.

Zooming in and out is insanely handy for jobs like this.

Remember, many Audacity tools only work from Stop, not Pause.

Audacity will push the tracks together into one show when you Export.

Hello

I am trying to edit an intro of a song I bought for my podcast. Nothing is working. It will not let me cut and edit. Please help with simple instructions for my simple mind. Thank you!

Most functions are disabled while playing, recording, or paused.
Ensure that playback is “stopped” (not just paused) before trying to edit.
