Chair sound covers up speach.

Hello,

I am fairly new to using Audacity professionally,
and have hit a bit of a bump in my work,

During a recent recording someone moved his chair during someones else's talking time, here by producing a chair moving sound on the floor that overpowers the full speech of the other person.

Is there a way to remove/reduce the sound of the chair moving over a period of 2 to 3 seconds, so that the talking becomes audible again?

Thank you all for your help,
Benny.

Sorry for any typos, English is not my Native language and I'm typing with a foreign keyboard ^^.

If a chair squeaked it may be possible to reduce it with Audacity's spectral edit tools ...
