Keyboard into Audacity

I thought it was time to try to record some of my keyboard efforts onto audacity.

There are about 4 ports on the back of my Casio ... tried all
cable into my laptop....

got the audacity window up and hit the record button....

In the past Id hit the record button ... say when playing internet radio ... and the vertical line would move....
Id see the blue sound wave form etc

but this time ... nothing

I tried every port but did nt see any kind of signal !

put a mic into the laptop and again.... no signal appears in audacity ....

Ive plugged it into the mic socket

I assume the microphone option may be the built in mic in these lap tops
