connecting usb casio midi not showing up in audacity

hi there, i've got a casio piano keyboard midi plugined in to the computer. i don't see it in audacity. can anyone show me why it's not showing up in audacity so i can record?

Audacity doesn't do MIDI.

If your Casio has a headphones or line-out, you can connect that to the line-in on your computer if it has one. If not, you need to get simple USB audio interface, like the Behringer UCA202, fi.

i already have the usb cable hooked up. and that isn't showing up on audacity. but it's showing up on my device manager. can some please tell me why it's not showing up on audacity's list of devices?

gale please put a midi options on audacity. thanks. :)

Because Audacity only records audio input, not MIDI (notes) input. See this FAQ: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#keyboards.

We can record your vote, but it is highly unlikely to happen. If you want to work with MIDI instead of audio, you can use an application that records MIDI: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Midi#programs.
