Presumably if the disable option was in the Tracks Menu, it would apply to selected tracks? That would be more flexible than using the Track Dropdown Menu if you had many tracks.

I am not sure if customisations are needed to the Track Control Panel other than toggling Gain and Pan. If the Mute/Solo buttons were moved above the Track Info, so they were the last control to disappear when making the track less tall, would many people want to change that?

I was thinking of it applying to all tracks in the current project.
If we want "per track" options, then they would go in the Track dropdown menu.

I guess that someone somewhere has a workflow that requires being able to see the Track Info even when tracks are smaller than standard, so it would be a regression for them.

I'm not sure that is James' view - I seem to recall that he has plans for a major overhaul of the Track Control Panel. #

We saw an early draft at AU14 - but after that nothing has yet seen the light of day.

As long as you say "All Gain and Pan sliders" in Tracks menu, OK.

The Track Dropdown Menu is very full, so I don't think it will take more than extra Toggle Gain and Toggle Pan items. If we want a Track Control Panel customiser, perhaps it might be able to show/hide dropdown menu items.

Perhaps we could have hover text to still show the track info, even when the track is fully collapsed?

Yes it is, so I was thinking of adding just one new menu item called something like "Track Options..." or "Track Options >"

If we wish to discuss changing this menu we should split this topic…
