Audacity 2.x is well documented with a full user manual, an online wiki, Tutorials and other useful resources.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
For self-help, a good place to start is the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) in the online version of the Manual.

Audacity Manual
The Manual is already included with the Windows .exe or Mac OS X .dmg installers for the latest 2.x version of Audacity . Look in the Audacity Help menu for the Manual. The Frequently Asked Questions are also included in the built-in Manual.

Searching the Audacity Manual
The most convenient way to search the Manual is to search the online version of the Manual. Bookmark this link: http://tinyurl.com/lytq5hd . Replace "Device Toolbar" in the address bar with what you are searching for.
