Issues with mp3 skipping

Hey all, I’m doing my recording via iPhone 6 and lav mic directly connected to iphone. The audio quality is not the greatest of course, but surprisingly acceptable. I’m airdropping the .m4a file from iphone to my macbook pro and importing to audacity 2.0.6 for post. When I export the mp3 (320 kbps) the resulting audio sounds fine, however, when I send the mp3 via email to share, the person I send to is reporting random skips. I noticed this myself when I send the mp3 file to myself and listen via iphone while driving as if it were a published episode.

So whats my issue here ? It seems that the skipping is happening after the file has been sent, but that seems weird to me. How should I be sending the file ? I havent uploaded any of my audio files to a host yet because I dont want to submit my rss to itunes until im sure my podcast will at least sound how it does to me on my machine.

That’s very out of date. The current version is 2.2.2 and is available here: Audacity ® | Download for Mac OS

If you can play that file on your local machine, then there is no problem with the file.

Are they playing it on a phone? If so, perhaps 320 kbps is too much for their phone to handle.
Podcasts are typically between 56 kbps CBR and 160 kbps CBR.
