FILES IMPORTING IN TINY CHUNKS OUT OF ORDER

I was sent a zip of audacity files called
Audacity Files.zip

I opened the zip and tried importing the files, but the audio track was cut into literally 800 or so pieces all out of order.
I tried importing the zip and was advised to ‘import raw data’.
Two tracks of audio are total shash - can’t hear my recordings at all.

If I unzip - there are four folders called

d00
d01
d02
d03

and in these folders are the hundreds of out-of-order files all called things like

e0000a1a.au

I’m working on the latest download of audacity on a Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.2

Unfortunately the person who sent me this file is now out of the country. Does anyone have an easy step-by-step
guide to how to import this zip so I can read it?

Many thanks

This article in the manual explains best: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/audacity_projects.html

Was there an AUP file in the zip? It’s the job of the AUP file to unscramble the _DATA folder.

Did they send you an Edit Master, or is this a raw capture? Edit Masters are not recoverable.
