Recording Entire Tape, Side A, then....

Sorry for any repetition here but I have searched for an answer.

I record my old Cassette Tapes or am starting to. I can save the Tape (say side A) and move it into iTunes. But, in iTunes I have just one Title (Album or mix name) and the whole thing plays through as one song. I want to be able to search by Song title when in iTunes too. Is this a ridiculously time-consuming project. Obviously, I would have to pick through the recording to find song breaks, I get that but to title them and then import? How is all this done?

I put together one mix and labelled every song and now they are all over iTunes folder, not under the same Album.

Yes, I’m pretty clueless and haven’t delved back into this whole process in quite some time but would really like to do it right.

Thank you all.

I believe iTunes recognizes the major metadata tags (scroll down).

It should be possible to get iTunes to group your songs according to the tags (select the column), scoop them all up and dump them into a PlayList.

Scroll Down.

I don’t think there’s any way to do that automatically.

Have a good read of this workflow that I put together for the manual while I was digitizing my LP collection for use on my iPods:

and this tutorial set:

But yes it’s tedious laborious work (worth it in the end). I bought CD replacements wherever possible to reduce the workload - though some modern “remastered” CDs are not as well engineered IMVHO compared to original vinyl.
