My devices drop down only gives me choices for “built in,” but I want to use “line-in.” How can I get the option for line in so that I can record from my lps? thanks,grant

If you have a newer Mac with only one connection, it switches between Stereo In and Stereo Out according to your System Preferences. The down side is you can’t hear the system on headphones while its recording – it won’t go both ways at once. The MacBook Pro has two sets of connections.
