I can't export a movie after editing its sound

I have a macbook air, OSX 10.7.4, Audacity 2.0 as a dmg file, and Final Cut Pro. I imported the movie as an FFmpeg file, edited the sound, and now the export says I can’t export it. Is there a trick to it?

Well, yes. Export a sound file from Final Cut, edit that in Audacity and then pull it back into Final Cut. Use WAV or PCM format or AIFF if Final Cut insists. Audacity will open all of them. You might be able to help by setting Audacity to 48000, 16-bit, Stereo, the television format in preferences.

If you had to go to that much work to open up the show, chances are the edit is in an odd format that may not ever integrate with the FCP timeline.

Did you export a FCP Movie for editing in Audacity? Audacity will not manage a video file other than to open the sound track under some circumstances. All of the export options are gray or missing?
