Can a Mac project be edited in Windows?

Hi there: I’m brand-new to the forum, though not to Audacity, and did not find this information anywhere. I’m using Audacity version 2 on a 10.7.3 Mac, but would like to take project or two with me on a trip…where I will only have access to a Windows XP box. Will my projects work there, and will they also be able to return to the Mac safely?

The short answer is “Yes”.

The long answer is “Yes, if the project is completely self-contained”.

Also keep in mind that some characters are allowed in file names on Mac that are not allowed on Windows.
If the project names use just “letters, numbers, space, hyphen, underscore” then that will not be a problem.
