How do I splice together a whole series of 6 sec audios that somehow where save in that way 
You don’t - those 6 second chunks are part of Audacity’s internal project structure to enable faster processing. You need to open the .aup file that you created.

Did the computer crash - or did you just exit the program without saving?
If so when you next opened Audacity it should have popped up a dialog box offfering to restore the project. Did this happen? What did you do?
To do the job with 2.0.0 projects is hard because the file numbering is not squential so you would need to sort the files into date/time order and then you can try the 1.2 manual recovery process - see: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Crash_Recovery
