iPad into PC mic?

Will I get sound using the headphone jack of my iPad and iPhone into my mic on my pc?

Will I get sound using the headphone jack of my iPad and iPhone into my mic on my pc?

– Into the Stereo Line-In of my Macbook Pro? Yes, certainly. That’s how I do most of my recording (you posted in the Mac forum).

– Into the Stereo Line-In of my large Deskside Windows machine. Yes, although the quality may be a little messy.

– Into the Mic-In of my Windows Laptop? No. Scroll down to “Connections.”

Koz, thanks…
Here is what I’m trying to accomplish…
Ampkit Link (guitar interface) with the APP Ampkit ( for amps and effects)
Into my laptop or PC to record on Audacity. I did a quick setup on my lunch hour
I could get my recorded songs on the APP to play… But my guitar signal was not coming thru?
So I’m trying to figure out if this idea can work with the link going into my laptop. If it doesn’t work on my laptop
What are the chances it will work on the PC?

I’m guessing zero. That iPod plug on the device is not compatible with PC sound cards whether the tiny cards are built into a laptop or separate, larger sound cards in a large desktop.

Sometimes we find people get so wrapped up in forcing a device to work they lose track of the goal. What is the goal? We wrote a whole wiki segment on musical overdubbing, multi-track, and sound-on-sound – including hardware configurations and software management.
