Highlighting in editing window behind wave

Okay this is likely a simple one but I’ve been pulling my hair out on it:
I’ve somehow messed up a setting that is now making the audio file selection highlight BEHIND the audio file rather than on top. This makes it difficult to make close or higher detail edits.

You have inadvertently selected the “Multi-tool” (http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/multi_tool.html)
You just need to switch back to the “Selection tool” (http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/selection_tool.html)
