2.2.2 Limit to One Project Open at A Time

I am installing Audacity 2.2.2 in Windows 10 Pro. This will be a communal computer that multiple people will use to record. I would love to think that I could count on them to close their project when they are done but I know that that won’t be the case. Is there a way to allow Audacity to have only one project open at a time? Either close out the previously open project or not allow a new project to open without closing the previous one.

Thanks,
Joe

Does each person have their own log-in to the computer? One person logged in at a time?

There is a single user logged in at all times.

Do you mean that all users of the computer share the same log-in?
If that’s the case, then I don’t think there’s any way that you make the other users close their projects.
If you, or any of your colleagues have any experience programming in C / C++, then it would be possible to make a custom build that disallows more than one open project at a time.

Correct. All users use the same log-in. I will talk to my IT guy and see if he wants to make a custom build. If not I’ll get him to set it up to restart the machine every night.

Scheduling a reboot would be the simplest solution. See: Redirecting
