I only want to delete a small duration of my voice.

Help for Audacity 2.x.x on Windows.

Please state which version of Windows you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Help menu > About Audacity".


Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.

`HI when i want to re do a part of a song I failled with my voice, i select the section to be redone and press delete but it also moves the rest of my voice back .

before if i remember well it was deleting the bad part but not moving the rest of the voice backward...

how to fix

It's not delete.

Select the portion to be removed and Generate Silence. Audacity should automatically make a silent slug to fit in the hole.
