I am using Windows 10 with Audacity 2.2.1 through a USB turntable but getting no sound from my PC.
Through the Forum I find that in upgrading from Windows 7 your device may lack Windows 10 Drivers. This must be my problem and I am wondering if you can recommend suitable sound drivers. Thanks Thomas
It may be simpler than you think.
When a USB audio device is plugged in, Windows will (usually) set it as the default device for recording and playback.
Obviously a turntable is only an “input device” (sound into the computer), but Windows doesn’t know that.
In the device toolbar, you can set which device you want to use for recording and which for playback. You need to select the USB turntable for recording, and your normal sound card for playback.
